The group of Binary Population Synthesis which founded by Knowledge Innovation Project of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, is the first batch of innovation research groups of Yunnan Observatories. At present, there are 14 fixed staffs,including 9 researchers(contain 7 doctoral supervisors), 3 associate researchers and 2 assistant researchers. And 23 non-fixed personnels,including one post-doctor,11 doctors,11 postgraduates The main research aspects of our group which contains the formation and evolution of peculiar star(hot subdwarf,blue straggler,forestar of type Ia supernovae etc.) The theory and observation of close binaries,evolutionary population synthesis,star-formation and terminal stars, theory of Magneto-fluid Dynamics in Astrophysics and numerical simulation research etc.
